Jason is Assistant Director, External Collaborations at Cold Spring Harbor Laboratory’s DNA Learning Center (www.dnalc.org) and is the Education, Outreach, and Training lead for CyVerse (www.cyverse.org), the NSF-funded national cyberinfrastructure platform for life science. As part of his work, Jason organizes, instructs, and speaks at several bioinformatics workshops, conferences, and meetings annually. Jason works with several projects that advance science and science education including service as an instructor and fomer Chair of the Software Carpentry Foundation (www.software-carpentry.org), an organization that teaches scientists best practice for coding and reproducible research and current Chair of the International Science Advisory Group for the European Molecular Biological Laboratory’s Australian Bioinformatics Resource (www.embl-abr.org.au). Jason also teaches science research as founder and instructor of the “Science Institute” at Yeshiva University High School for Girls.
