I study plant biochemical responses to combinations of environmental stresses. In particular, I am interested in the role of cytochrome P450 enzymes in regulating the growth/defense tradeoffs as plants acclimate to adverse environmental conditions. I study CYP72A enzymes from maize and Arabidopsis. I work with undergraduate students at a PUI, The College of New Jersey. In addition to working with students in the research lab, I teach a freshman seminar on food, introductory biology, plant biology, and plant genetics.
