Yuan-Chi received a Bachelor's degree in Biochemistry at National Taiwan University before joining Purdue University Interdisciplinary Life Science (PULSe) program in 2019. She started pursuing her Ph.D. in Botany and Plant Pathology under the adviser Dr. Gyeong Mee Yoon to understand the functions of Constitutive Triple Response 1 (CTR1), a Raf-like kinase that acts as a critical negative regulator in the ethylene signaling pathway. Her research interests include identifying novel CTR1 protein interacting partners and investigating the roles of CTR1 in regulating chloroplast function with proteomics, genetics, molecular biology, and biochemistry approaches.
