My principal interest is to make plants more efficient and nutritive so we can give quality food to more people (or livestock) with fewer resources. My area of knowledge expands from evolution and population genetics to the elucidation of genetic signaling and transduction pathways with an emphasis on plant nutrition. For both areas, I was trained in state of art biotechnology techniques and data analysis tools. One of the more important abilities that I learned in my postgraduate studies is to find relevant information quickly and compare it to other sources, this helps me to be able of being a fast self-learner and to have multiple points of view on any topic.
