I am Papaiah Sardaru, and I work at the University of Maryland Eastern Shore in Dr. Dhekney's lab. My current research is dedicated to identifying and characterizing plant receptor proteins that are involved in the grapevine disease infection process. I am exploring innovative methods of enhancing grapevine disease resistance through the application of CRISPR-Cas9-mediated genome editing techniques.
