Kanza is a passionate Master's student at Cornell University, specializing in Plant Biotechnology. Her research project revolves around the field of Plant Biology and Pathology. Recognized for her outstanding academic achievements, Kanza was awarded the prestigious Fulbright Scholarship.
Prior to pursuing her master's degree, Kanza earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Biotechnology with distinction. During her undergraduate studies, she actively participated in Molecular and Microbiology labs, honing her skills in experimental techniques and data analysis.
Kanza's research interests lie in exploring host-pathogen interactions and understanding the defense mechanisms employed by plants. At Cornell, she has been fortunate to delve into the realm of systemic induction of antiviral resistance in Nicotiana benthamiana, a model plant species, in response to specialized metabolites derived from the morning glory family. This investigation sheds light on the fascinating interplay between plants and pathogens, paving the way for potential strategies in plant disease management.
