As a graduate student at Rashotte Lab, Auburn University, my research is focused on exploring the time-dependent dynamics of cytokinin (CK) treatment during dark-induced senescence. Specifically, we are focusing on studying particular isoforms of CK, known as N-glucosides CK. These are characterized by glucose molecules attached to the N7- or N9- position of the base form cytokinin.
My goal is to uncover their functional activity during the senescence process and elucidate the differential characteristics between the base forms and N-glucosides during senescence, both on a physiological and molecular level. This exploration will aid us in comprehending the intricacies of plant aging and response mechanisms to environmental changes.
