Yan Zhou received her Bachelor's degree from Henan Agricultural University in China in 2016. In the same year, she started her post-graduate study and received her Master's degree from Henan Agricultural University in 2020. In 2019, she was funded as a visiting student at the University of Kentucky for 1 year, in the United States. Currently, Yan Zhou is a Ph.D. candidate and graduate research assistant in the Integrated Plant & Soil Sciences program, at the University of Kentucky. She works with Dr. Ling Yuan, the director of the Kentucky Tobacco Research & Development Center (KTRDC). Her current project focuses on the post-translational regulation of nicotine, by the phosphorylation of MAPK cascade. She mastered many biotechnologies including tissue culture, RNAi, yeast one-hybrid, yeast two-hybrid, luciferase complementation imaging assay, western blot, kinase assay, etc.
