My name is Anuradha De Silva, and I am a Ph.D. student under the supervision of Dr. Brian Mark in the Department of Microbiology, University of Manitoba, Canada. I completed my BSc.(Plant Biotechnology) in the University of Colombo and completed a Biotechnology Master’s degree at the University of Peradeniya, Sri Lanka. I worked on multidisciplinary projects during my undergraduate and Master's studies especially related to plant transgenic, plant pathology, and plant biochemistry. Currently, I am working on a project to develop Turnip Yellow Mosaic Virus-resistant Arabidopsis thaliana using a novel protein-based approach. I would like to share my experiences and discoveries at the ASPB conference in 2023. As a young researcher, I aspire to engage in microbiology, plant pathology, enzyme production technology, and biotechnology research.
