Dr. Sydney B. Wizenberg holds a PhD in Plant Biology and is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow in Molecular Palynology at York University (Toronto, Canada). Supervised by Dr. Amro Zayed, Sydney is a project lead on BeeCSI - a national Genome Canada project focused on exploring and developing tools for diagnosing stress in managed honey bee colonies. Sydney's work focuses heavily on quantifying plant-pollinator interactions and their role in regulating stressor exposure across agricultural landscapes. Sydney has expertise in plant cell and molecular biology and is currently spearheading the largest Canadian pollen metabarcoding project ever undertaken. In her free time, Sydney loves to bake, do yoga, and listen to music.
