PhD Candidate

I am a rising fifth-year Biochemistry and Cell Biology graduate student at Rice university. I received my B.S. in Biochemistry from Purdue University, where I gained an interested in genetics and cell biology. Now, I aim to combine classical and modern genetic, molecular, and computational techniques to seek new answers about plant biology.
I work in the lab of Dr. Bonnie Bartel where we utilize the model plant Arabidopsis thaliana to study peroxisomes and lipid droplets. I am investigating peroxins, the proteins involved in peroxisome biogenesis, to better understand peroxisome function and how peroxisome mechanics are conserved across kingdoms of life.
