I attained my Masters’ degree in the UW-Madison Botany Department. For the past 12 years, I have been working in the Crop Genome Engineering, Immunochemistry, and Hybrid Seed groups at Pioneer/Corteva. There, I worked on many projects including designing, building, and testing site-specific integration, marker-free excision systems, chemically-inducible expression systems, and non-integrating expression of morphogenic genes and Cas9 for SDN3 leading to both patents and publications. I also initiated the pollen preservation project leading to the ability to store maize pollen. My most recent work focuses on wheat reproductive biology and novel hybrid technologies. I have a real passion for plant physiology, development, and the connection between gene expression (specifically developmental transcription factors) and how that manifests in a plant’s physical form.
