I am a PhD student under the supervision of Prof. Eduardo Blumwald in the Department of Plant Sciences, University of California, Davis. Prior to pursuing my PhD study at UC Davis, I obtained my bachelor’s and master’s degrees from Mahidol University, Thailand, where I conducted research about the changes in metabolic responses and phytochemical components in a Thai medicinal plant in response to external stimuli. This study has sparked my interest in delving deeper into the physiological mechanisms underlying plants' ability to adapt to abiotic stress. My current research at UC Davis uses the palisade and vascular tissues of the hybrid Populus tremula x alba to investigate the adaptive strategies of perennial trees under salinity stress. Given the pressing issue of climate change and its potential impact on global agricultural production, I believe my study might provide an understanding and some useful aspects for crop improvement in the future.
