Noé Perron is a PhD student at the University of Florida with Dr. Matias Kirst, where he devotes his research to finding solutions to some of agriculture's most important challenges. Specifically, he works to develop drought and salt stress resistance in crops, with a focus on studying CAM photosynthesis at the molecular level in Mesembryathemum crystallinum, or the common ice plant. To achieve this, Noé uses techniques in the fields of single-cell genomics, molecular biology, and bioinformatics.
