Dr. Sanbon C Gosa is currently a Postdoctoral Research Associate as a member of Prof. Andrew Leakey's research group at the Institute for Genomic Biology, University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, USA. With an academic journey rooted in a passion for plants he earned his Ph.D. and M.Sc. in Plant Sciences, focusing on Molecular and Stress Physiology, Robert H. Smith Faculty of Agriculture, Food, and Environment at The Hebrew University of Jerusalem(HUJI); B.Sc. in Plant Sciences From Dilla University, Ethiopia. He worked at the Department of Plant Sciences at Madawalabu University at various positions, Ethiopia, from 2010 to 2016. At HUJI he, researched : 1. molecular-cellular level regulation of leaf hydraulics, 2. whole-plant water balance, 3. greenhouse-to-field prediction. Currently, he investigates genes potentially influencing water use efficiency in C4 plants, at CABBI (Center for Advance Bioenergy and Bioproduct innovation) and he is eager to uncover more stories in this captivating domain.
