Student Research Assistant
University of Georgia
Concord, North Carolina
Hello everyone!
My name is Julianne. I am going into my third year of undergrad at the University of Georgia. I am majoring in Applied Biotechnology, minoring in Plant Biology, and pursuing a certificate in Global Health. I have been working as a Student Research Assistant in Dr. Dayton Wilde's Ornamental Horticulture and Molecular Genetics laboratory researching fungal pathogens under the Institute of Plant Breeding, Genetics, and Genomics since January of 2023.
I hope to continue towards a career in the research & development side of biotechnology. I have gained unparalleled experience in aseptic protocol, T-DNA binary plasmid vector transformation, and somatic embryogenic tissue culture. I want to expand my laboratory education and am very willing to look into many different avenues of chemical and biological R&D.
I would love to hear any advice you have for a young scientist with an interest in curing the world of disease!
