I obtained my Bachelor in Biotechnology from VIT University (Vellore), India. Following graduation, I joined a Ph.D. program in Biotechnology at the Institute of Plant and Microbial Biology, Academia Sinica, Taiwan. My Ph.D. research under the supervision of Prof. Wolfgang Schmidt focused on understanding the molecular regulation of plants’ response to iron deficiency in concert with the environmental pH. Using Arabidopsis as model a system, I investigated the role of IRONMAN (IMA) peptides in improving plant growth on calcareous soil by inducing the biosynthesis and secretion of the catecholic coumarins like fraxetin.
In the Müller lab, I am studying the connection between plant nutrition and rhizospheric events. I am seeking opportunities to further my knowledge in applied plant biology research with focus on commercial crops like Beans, Sorghum, Corn and others.
