Rose is a third year PhD student in David Seung’s lab at the John Innes Centre (Norwich, UK). As part of her PhD she is conducting a genome wide association study (GWAS) using an Aegilops tauschii, the D genome progenitor of hexaploid wheat, diversity panel. She is utilising this to identify novel genes influencing starch granule formation in cereals. Before starting her PhD she completed a BA in Natural Sciences at the University of Cambridge (UK) where she specialized in plant sciences from a molecular/biochemical angle.
