Sruti Das Choudhury received M.Tech in Computer Science and Application from the University of Calcutta, India and PhD in Computer Science Engineering from the School of Engineering of the University of Warwick, UK in 2009 and 2013, respectively. Her thesis title was “Uniscale and Multiscale Gait recognition for Human Identification”. She has experiences of serving as a Lecturer in the Calcutta Institute of Engineering and Management, India (2005-2010), Laboratory Demonstrator in the University of Warwick, UK (2010-2013), Early Career Research Fellow in the University of Warwick, UK (2013-2014) and Postdoctoral Research Associate in the University of Nebraska-Lincoln, USA (2015-2016). Presently, she is a Research Assistant Professor in the School of Natural Resources and the Department of Computer Science Engineering of the University of Nebraska-Lincoln (UNL), USA. Her present research interest is image-based plant phenotyping analysis which lies at the intersection of Computer Science, Biology, Statistics, Mathematics and Genomics. Some of her prestigious awards are: honorable mention award for the outstanding postdoctoral researcher (USA, 2017), Postgraduate Award-Introduction to Academic and Professional Practices (UK, 2014), Early Career Research Fellowship (UK, 2014), EPSRC award for the collaborative research as the principal investigator (UK, 2013), Warwick Postgraduate Research Scholarship and Engineering Bursary for PhD study (UK, 2010), and gold medal award for securing first position in M.Tech (India, 2009).
