Dr. Ying Li grew up in Guilin, China and then went to Beijing for her undergraduate degree at Tsinghua University. In 2005, Ying came to U.S. and later got her PhD degree in University of Illinois at Urbana Champaign. She then lived in the heart of Manhattan from 2011 to 2016 working as a Postdoc at New York University. In 2017, she moved back to the Midwest, and started her own lab at Purdue, West Lafayette. Dr. Li’s research interest is to use functional genomics and systems biology approaches to understand how plants regulate their gene expression in response to internal and external cues, with a special focus on the roles played by chromatin regulators.
