I did undergraduate research in the lab of Dr. Xiaolan Zhang at China Agricultural University. After graduation in July 2015, I enrolled in the Plant Biology Graduate Program at Penn State University in Fall 2015 and joined Dr. Kao’s lab to conduct my Ph.D. dissertation research, which centered on the use of CRISPR/Cas9 genome-editing to assess the function of genes proposed to be involved in the self/nonself recognition between pollen and pistil in Petunia inflata. After completing my dissertation research, I decided to continue my postdoctoral research in Dr. Kao’s lab. Currently, I am studying the stability of the SCFSLF complex involved in SI of Petunia, and evolution of the genes encoding the subunits of the SCFSLF complex in eudicots.
