I am Taehoon Kim, a PhD candidate in the Environmental Horticulture Department at the University of Florida, under the supervision of Dr. Kevin Begcy. My research focuses on transcriptomic and methylomic analyses of female gametophyte development in rice, as well as functional characterization of an epigenetic regulator involved in rice female gamete formation.
Prior to my PhD studies, I completed my undergraduate and master's degrees in the Crop Science and Biotechnology at the Seoul National University. My academic background has provided me with a strong foundation in plant sciences and genetics.
In the future, I aspire to pursue an academic career focusing on epigenomics and genetics of crop plants.
