Research Scientist
Donald Danforth Plant Science Center
St Louis, Missouri
I am one of the ASPB conference correspondents at this year's Plant Biology 2023 meeting. I am a Research Scientist at the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center in St. Louis, Missouri, USA. Slowly moving away from the bench, I have grown as a bioinformatics scientist and use next generation sequencing data to solve genetic mysteries. Recently, I published as the lead author of a study that uncovered mechanisms controlling the heritability of plants’ growth response to elevated CO2 environment.
I obtained my Ph.D. in Molecular Genetics from The Ohio State University, Columbus, Ohio dissecting multiple mechanisms that silence mobile genetic units Transposable Elements (TEs). Prior to this, I earned my Integrated M.S. in Biology from Indian Institute of Science Education & Research, Kolkata, India. Besides science, I am passionate about travelling exploring different cultural and culinary experiences. I also love playing and following the wonderful game of squash.
