I am a Brazilian plant biologist who has been working on climbing plants Evo-Devo since my graduate studies. I graduated at University of São Paulo, with a two-years period abroad at UCDavis (CA), investigating Bignoniaceae (trumpet-creeper family) tendrilled leaves development and evolution. More recently my research has been focusing specifically on the cellular and molecular basis of the helical growth in climbing plants, particularly on the role of microtubules during stem twining and twisting. Currently I am working at the Onyenedum lab at Cornell University investigating the anatomical, physiological, cellular and molecular basis of twining movements in common beans.
