Jennifer Clarke is a Professor in Food Science and Technology, and Statistics, and the Director of the Quantitative Life Sciences Initiative at the University of Nebraska-Lincoln. Dr. Clarke received her doctorate in statistics from the Pennsylvania State University under the mentorship of C.R. Rao. She conducted postdoctoral research at the National Institute of Statistical Sciences in Research Triangle Park and the Department of Statistical Sciences at Duke University before joining the faculty at Duke with appointments in the Department of Statistical Sciences, the Department of Biostatistics and Bioinformatics, and the Institute for Genome Sciences and Policy. Prior to coming to UNL in 2013, she was at the University of Miami in the Division of Biostatistics and the Center for Computational Sciences. Her current interests include statistical methodology for metagenomics, multitype data and prediction, and training the next generation of data scientists. She is a Principal Investigator on the NSF Midwest Big Data Spoke award in Digital Agriculture, aimed at developing partnerships and addressing challenges related to Big Data in UAS research and plant phenomics and genomics.
