I am a doctoral student at Michigan State University in the Brandizzi lab. I currently study the role of post translational modifications in maintaining proteostasis in the early secretory pathway of Arabidopsis and try to identify new players in the unfolded protein response. My career aspirations are to bring together the two historically disparate fields of molecular and cellular biology and alternative forms of agriculture. I hope to help create a more sustainable food system by applying advancements in molecular and cellular biology to traits of value in alternative cropping systems that promote better land stewardship than current conventional systems.
