Research Plant Physiologist
USDA-ARS
Raleigh, North Carolina
My name is Anna Ortiz, I am a plant physiologist for the USDA-ARS Soybean and Nitrogen Fixation Research Unit in Raleigh NC. Although I'm currently working with above ground environmental effects on plants, my Ph.D was on a completely different discipline -- Environmental Geochemistry. I'm finding ways of merging my previous experience and expertise (geochemistry of soil salinization) with my current project, which aims to help determine the effects of elevated temperature on multiple soybean genotypes. This is my first plant biology conference and look forward to networking and meeting people across all disciplines and as an early-career scientist, I'm open to talk about upcoming job opportunities.
