Jeeyon Jeong is an Assistant Professor in the Department of Biology & Program in Biochemistry & Biophysics at Amherst College, a liberal arts college in Amherst MA, USA. Her reserach focuses on understanding the molecular mechanisms of iron homeostasis in plant. The Jeong Lab consists of primarily undergraduate students and is currently funded by NSF. Prior to her faculty position at Amherst College, Jeeyon was a postdoctoral fellow in the laboratory of Dr. David Eide at the Univ of Wisconsin (UW) -Madison and studied zinc homeostasis in yeast and mammalian cells. She was also an HHMI Teaching Fellow at UW-Madision. Jeeyon obtained her PhD from Dartmouth College (advisor: Dr. Mary Lou Guerinot), MS from POSTECH (advisor: Dr. Youngsook Lee), and BE from Yonsei University.
