I am a postdoctoral researcher in the lab of Dr. Seung Yon (Sue) Rhee at the Carnegie Institution for Science at Stanford, investigating biomolecular condensates in plants. My interest is to broadly understand the molecular mechanisms performed by biomolecular condensates in life. My current projects are investigating how biomolecular condensates are essential for plant development and growth through regulating metabolic pathways and through sensing changes in water stress. My previous work at the University of Tennessee investigated how plants survive abiotic stress through changes in RNA regulation by degradation of stress granules and SGS3 bodies. Outside of the lab, I lead the LGBTQ+ Plant Scientist Network, advocate for LGBTQ+ visibility and support in STEM, as well as advocate for groups historically excluded from STEM.
