Anjali Iyer-Pascuzzi grew up in Los Angeles and earned her BS in Molecular Environmental Biology from the University of California, Berkeley. She moved to Cornell University where she received a MS in Plant Pathology and PhD in Plant Breeding and Genetics, followed by a postdoc at Duke University in root biology. She is currently a Professor at Purdue University, where her research centers on plant-microbe interactions at multiple scales. Her laboratory aims to understand: What signaling pathways integrate biotic stress perception with developmental and physiological responses to microbes? How do pathogens exploit these pathways to increase virulence? How do changes in plant development and physiology contribute to resistance?
