Elison Blancaflor is a Senior Scientist at the NASA-Kennedy Space Center (KSC). Prior to KSC, he was a Professor at the Noble Research Institute LLC in Ardmore, Oklahoma. Elison received his Ph.D. from the University of Louisiana and was a postdoctoral fellow at the Pennsylvania State University. His main research interest is on the application of live cell microscopy, genetics, and multi-omics to gain insights into molecular mechanisms by which plants develop and respond to their environment. Elison was principal investigator on several NASA-funded ground and spaceflight experiments. He received the American Society for Gravitational and Space Research (ASGSR) Thora W. Halstead Young Investigator Award in 2005.
